LIGHT Africa 2011
Please join us in prayer for the upcoming trip to Africa. We have 11 teams poised and ready to go. The local hosts have over 500 participants registered for the 1 month courses. We plan to train over 3500 people using the New Beginnings DVD's. But, we have a dilemma - we are $35,000 short of the amount needed to purchase our plane tickets. Please visit www.lightingtheworld.org/africa.html for more information about this endeavor.

Update from the Philippines
Work Education as a part of curriculum, is done 4 times a week(Mon-Thurs) morning from 8am- 11:30am, is a Bible based principle. 2 Thes. 3:10 says.....that if any would not work, neither should he eat. As a self-supporting institution, the students help in developing facilities, huts, garden and in other ministries.
Sign of the Times says, "When useful labor is combined with sudy...much more benefit is derived from work performed in the open air than from indoor exercise."
Each morning, 3groups in their working outfit will be assigned into diferent areas: 1 group in the kitchen ubder the supervision of Alma Zarate ad Shey Garcia; 1 in agriculture and in ground cleaning under Rey Daguplo.
As the sudents learn to cook, bake, plant and to handle bolo with diferent uses, they are also learning character development, so we Praise the Lord for bringing us into the School of Christ.

Changed lives in Honduras
One young student was not even attending church, attended nearly all the classes, and
at the close of the classes has decided to dedicate her life to the Lord, and is continuing her
ministry training at IBC which started February 8, 2010.
For the Health Expo, the Lord provided us the best inside location at the most upscale mall in Tegucigalpa for no charge with free advertisement in the local newspaper! The expo ran from 11am
until 7pm continuously , servicing approx. 400 people. The Asst. Marketing director for the mall asked for more health expos and even asked when we could be back to do another expo, or health seminars.

Special Course for World Vision in Honduras
None of the participants of this course are Seventh-Day Adventist, however this group was one that showed great, longterm interest. The participants of this course were so interested in the course that they decided to go to the other class (SDA) whenever they missed a day or in order to hear more about what was being presented in the classwork.
Dr. Irma Servellon, the director of the World Vision ADP, decided it would be great to hold a LIGHT course after hearing about the course content. Even though she is evangelical she decided she would like to receive the whole curriculum –not only the health section. After taking the course Dr. Irma (who had previously said would never again enter an Adventist church) specially thanked the teachers and let them know that in her 34 years in an evangelical church she had never heard anything that had impressed her as much as what was taught during the course. Dr. Irma is the aunt of Gabriela Chicas who helped organize the course. Gabriela has been working with VIDA for the past seven months in the Marketing and Public Relations Department, and has applied for the entrance in the 6 month CHE program – July class.
It was the participants’ initiative to request that VIDA organize a vegetarian cooking class in order to put into practice all the knowledge obtained from the health classes. They all signed up for a class that has yet to be scheduled and organized.
The knowledge obtained by these participants is now being considered how to best introduce to the other 200 World Vision volunteers who work directly with people in very needy areas in Tegucigalpa.

Divine Appointments
We left the room but we realized we had missed an opportunity to share more about the Medical Missionary work. But praise the Lord, Shawn forgot his waterbottle in the room. We went back and got the waterbottle and asked the Pastor if he wanted a massage. He said yes and we treated him quite nicely after the evening devotion. We were invited to join the the evening meal and join in the evening devotion. After which we began giving massages to several division Presidents. We eventually asked for time to present the LIGHT program to the group of Presidents and they gave us 15 mintues. It is beyond our feeble conceptions how the Lord works these situations out. Today we gave a brief presentation and passed out the LIGHT brocheres to the leaders. Generally there was a good reception, and we have received many invites to train the lay people in different parts of India.
